IPO GMP stands from IPO Grey Market Premiums which is used by the investors to estimate the listing gain on the IPO share. The extra value that represents the current market price of the shares of any company's new initial public offering (IPO) is known as the Grey Market Premium, or GMP. The projected listing price of the IPO share is calculated by adding the Grey Market Premium to the issue price.
For instance, shares are trading at ₹250 (₹200 plus ₹50) on the grey market if the IPO's issue price is ₹200 and the GMP is ₹50. This makes it much simpler for investors to decide which companies to abandon or which to invest in in advance.
Before the stock is listed, IPO applications and shares are traded on the unregulated grey market Premium. Even if an investor isn't interested in trading on the grey market, they can still estimate the listing gain. The GMP of all ongoing and planned SME and mainboard IPOs is being reported here.
